Description: Individuals with disabilities are often denied the opportunity to acquire, use and enjoy the residential premises of their choosing. Through assistive technology (AT), many of the traditional barriers to the use and enjoyment of residential space can be overcome. The focus of this article is to describe the protections of the federal Fair Housing Act applicable to persons with disabilities who seek rental housing of their choice or who wish to use AT to fully use and enjoy rental housing. |
