Dialog Meeting with USBLN- October 19-20, 2011
Representatives from AT Act Entities from six states met with a small group of US Business Leadership Network members and other stakeholders at the USBLN Annual Conference in Louisville, Kentucky on October 19. The meeting began a discussion on ways group members can work together to increase the use of AT for employment.

RESNA Catalyst Project & ATIA Continued Partnership in 2012
The RESNA Catalyst Project and ATIA will provide free access to the ATIA public for-fee online education programs(to project staff and regional partners only) of AT Act Entities again in 2012. These online education programs include live webinars and archived versions by national experts on a variety of AT topics across the spectrum. CEUs are available for completion of these programs. Statewide AT Program Data Submission Conference Call
Monday, November 14, 2011 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. Eastern
RSA, RESNA Catalyst and NISAT will host a conference call on Statewide AT Program data submission requirements and timelines for fiscal year 2011. Diane Golden will provide information about updates in the MIS, as well as significant changes in the Statewide AT Act entities program data elements that must be submitted by the end of the year. This will be a very interactive session, allowing plenty of time for questions and answers. If you have questions that you would like to have answered, please submit your questions in advance (no later than Friday, November 11th) to Jason Luciano at jluciano@resna.org. Statewide AT Act New Directors Call-Thursday, December 1, 2011 3-4:00 PM Eastern
The New Directors call takes place every other month. This upcoming call will feature information about Fiscal and Contract Management issues as well as allow new directors to discuss issues they are currently facing. To join the call, dial 800-351-6810, and use pass code: 46172076.

State AT Grant Programs Purchasing Work Group
The first meeting for the statewide AT Act purchasing Work Group was held Monday, October 24th. This Work Group will develop a forum for programs to share information about the best prices and deals for AT devices and other purchases. These meetings will be held approximately monthly. The Notice of Proposed Information Collection Request was published in the Federal Register on Monday, October 17, 2011 for the State Plan for Assistive Technology. Bridges to Better Advocacy Conference - November 1-3, 2011 Austin, Texas
This three-day conference will focus on AT funding and advocacy strategies. The Preconference (Nov 1) will focus on Medicaid AT and Litigation. Highlights of the two day conference (Nov 2 - 3) include: "Medicaid Challenges for 2012," "Americans with Disabilities Act and Employment: Recent Case Law," "Mobility Equipment: A Physical Therapist's Perspective," "Confronting Challenges of Dual Eligibility in Medicaid DME Cases," and "Enforcing the Fair Housing Act to Obtain AT." A New Distance Learning Initiative for 2012
In an effort to maximize our resources and bring quality training to the PAATs, P&A; network, and State AT Projects, we will commence this series in early 2012. Planning will soon start to identify topics, speakers, and determine if modest registration fees will be required to support the cost of what we expect to be a teleconference format with continuing legal education credits and possible other credits available.

AFP New Directors/Lending Basics - Merged with Nov 14 Data Call
The AFP New Directors Lending Basics scheduled conference call was postponed from October, and will instead be rolled into the Data Submission call scheduled for November 14th at 1:00 pm Eastern.


Recent Event

Best Practices/Quality Indicators Work Group - October 27th
The Best Practices Work Group completed the development of draft Quality Indicators for AFPs and Telework Loan Programs. This document will be reviewed one more time by the Work Group and then it will be shared with the AFP/Telework program community as a whole for comments and suggestions. Keep an eye out for this important and document.

New Publications: AFP and Telework Data Reports
RESNA Catalyst is compiling two reports on loan program data from FY 2010. One report will be on AFP data and the other report will be on Telework data. These reports will provide updated data and program profile information. More information will be forthcoming!
