Important RSA Deadlines for 2012
Below are important RSA deadlines for obligating and liquidating funds, as well as approval to extend financial and data reporting submission dates:

  • September 30, 2012: Deadline for obligation of FY11 funds
  • September 30, 2013: Deadline for obligation of FY12 grant award
  • December 31, 2012: Deadline for liquidation of FY11 funds (depending on how the end of the year falls)
  • December 31, 2013: Deadline for liquidation of FY12 funds
  • December 15, 2012 or sooner: Deadline for programs to send requests to RSA for approval to extend submission dates for FY 2011 SF-425 financial reporting form and FY 2012 RSA-572 annual data collection for SGAT. This also applies to RSA-662 and Telework ICs.
  • RSA-664 due date sometime in February

ATIA and RESNA Catalyst Partnership Coupon Code
The RESNA Catalyst Project announced last month the continuation of its partnership with the Assistive Technology Industries Association (ATIA), to offer live and archived webinars to all AT Act Entities. It’s easy to register online with for Live Broadcasts or Archives using coupon code CATPR13. There are 45+ recordings available in the Archives portfolio. A new 2013 schedule will be posted in December. Additionally, individual states may purchase a subscription for additional seats directly from ATIA. Webinar: Assistive Technology and the Interactive Process of Employee Accommodations-Save the Date: January 23, 2013 2p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Eastern
The RESNA Catalyst Project, Southwest ADA Center, and ADA National Network will present a webinar on how AT demonstrations, equipment loans, and support and technical assistance from the ADA National Network may enhance an interactive employee accommodation process. If your program would like to share information on how you are assisting employers with learning about AT and pursuing accommodations, we would like to include you in our webinar planning. RESNA Catalyst Project’s Director Represents Catalyst and AT Act Entities at Two Conferences
RESNA Catalyst Project’s Director Joey Wallace attended the United States Business Leadership Network (USBLN) National Conference in October. Joey staffed a RESNA Catalyst Project exhibit booth at USBLN along with Raj Pagadala, RESNA Member and Rehabilitation Engineer. Joey demonstrated the developing Employment and Business Web Portal while Raj showed AT workplace accommodations to attendees.

Joey also attended the National Assistive Technology Advocacy Project’s Bridges to Better Advocacy Conference in Austin, meeting with representatives from the Protection and Advocacy Centers around the country.

Statewide AT Steering Committee Conference Call-Friday November 2, 2012, 1:00p.m Eastern Time
This call will focus on finalizing the 2013 Statewide AT Program RESNA Catalyst Project Technical Assistance Plan, as well begin to plan for the Statewide AT Project Directors Meeting, which is scheduled May 6-9, 2013, in Bethesda, Maryland.

Webinar on AT Transition Policy POSTPONED due to Hurricane Sandy
The third webinar in this series, “AT Transition Policy” scheduled for October 31st, has been postponed due to Hurricane Sandy. A new date and registration option will be available shortly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

New PAATs Website
The National Assistive Technology Advocacy Project for Assistive Technology will soon have a new and updated website.Jim Sheldon, Project Director with the Project, expects the website to roll out in November. More details to follow in the next few weeks.

“AT Advocate” to resume as Electronic-Only Newsletter
This newsletter has been published periodically since 1996 with hard copies made available to P&A; programs and AT projects among others. Our most recent issue was published and distributed in late 2010/early 2011. A new version of “Medicaid, AT and the Courts” will be published on our website during October. This and future newsletters will be published in an electronic format only.

Congratulations to our Newest Loan Program Grantees!
RSA and RESNA send huge congratulations to the new grantees funded under the latest round of loan program grant awards! In a VERY competitive process, Montana and Idaho were awarded funds to expand their current programs, and California was awarded funds to start a new program! Welcome aboard, and we look forward to working with you!

The latest installment of the Telework New Directors conference call series was held Tuesday, October 9th at 1:00pm. This call served as an “open forum” and a chance for all participants to engage in peer-to-peer assistance.

New AT Radio & Podcasts in Indiana
INDATA has launched an internet radio station. AssistiveTechnologyRadio.com broadcasts 24/7 and includes a wide variety of AT programs.
