"Nuts and Bolts of Operating Device Demonstration and Loan Programs"
Raleigh Hilton, Raleigh, NC
February 12 - 14, 2007
A two and a half day specialized workshop was hosted by NATTAP in Raleigh, North Carolina and was designed for participants who were starting new device demonstration and loan programs as well as those participants looking to enhance/improve their device demonstration and loan programs. The agenda for this workshop, which was developed by a planning group of state AT directors and device demonstration and loan center personnel, was structured to address the essentials for building, maintaining, and sustaining a device demonstration and device loan program. Presentations provided information so that participants could compare and contrast their programs.
Moderated discussions on Day 1 allowed for sharing of operational details and decision-making about program structure. The North Carolina AT Center in Raleigh hosted an Open House for participants to take a tour of their facility with staff on hand to answer questions.
Day 2 sessions were built around maintaining device demonstration and loan programs. Concurrent roundtable discussions on the second day allowed people to move through smaller informal discussions on specific topics.
Day 3 sessions focused on sustainability of device demonstration and loan programs.
