Module Two: Advisory Councils

Under the Assistive Technology Act of 1998 (AT Act), as amended, statewide AT programs must establish and maintain advisory councils to help plan, implement, and evaluate activities.

Objectives:
After completing this module, you will be able to:

• Describe the purpose and requirements of a statewide AT program advisory council.
• Describe strategies to making your statewide AT program advisory council more effective.
• Describe strategies to recruit, orient, and retain statewide AT program advisory council members.
